    Default dof button

i'd like to see camera manufacturers to add a circuit or gadget that will brighten the view finder when you press the dof button, specially at the smallest aperture to see the effect

Not sure how they would do it through the view finder, but it would be easy in "Live View"...and a great idea.

Not sure if/how that could be done....but I agree it would be useful. When you press that button and look through the viewfinder you are looking at the scene through the chosen F-stop. If the F-stop is small, it's normal for the scene to be dark.
IMO, DOF preview button is fairly useless unless you are shooting outdoors in the daytime.
