    The top kill has failed and was probably expected to fail. Probably was just a pacifier for the public:

    Yes and BP will most likely get a fine that will be pathetically small so as not to deter oil companies.

    Or, in view of the enormity of the situation, they will declare bankrupcy (grab their bonusess and run) and have the taxpayers pay for the mess.

    What most people have not yet realized is the totally fantastic amount of financial pressure this is going to put on the health care system as well, once all the contaminated fish enter the food chain. And this is but one consequence.

    Oh, and thre is no mention of BP's leak at an Alaskan pipeline right now ... I guess a couple of 100,000 liters are nothing.
