Living Statues

This is a discussion on Living Statues within the People photography (portraits, sports etc.) forums, part of the Show your photo (Color) - Landscape & Nature (flowers, mountains, storms etc.) category; These are very interesting subjects. Nice pictures and I really like how well preserved the texture is in their clothing ...

These are very interesting subjects. Nice pictures and I really like how well preserved the texture is in their clothing and hair. Could you comment on lighting you used, flash etc.?

    Thanks, M.A.

Mike, I just used on camera flash, the SB900 in i-TTL mode, bounced off the ceiling with the white bounce card up. Other settings are f4 at 1/60 or 1/125 sec. As you can see from the photo below which has only basic editing done to it, they also have some coloured LED lights shining on them. Some of the girls were holding a LED flashlight to their their face as well.

Other than that, I tried to take the photos from a fairly low position - they were already standing on footstools- to try and get a viewing a "goddess" quality.
