    Default The Next Mia Hamm!!!!

I've been absent for the last month because I worked 34 straight 12-hour days at work. This was my first weekend off since Feb 3rd.

Maddy, my oldest, started scoccer last week and this was the first game I could make. She is quite the aggressive player. I wasn't sure how to shoot it, so I just "spray and pray" method. I was shooting 1/400 speed f4.0 at a 300mm focal length.

I got several good shots, but this is my favorite. It shows her true fight to the finish game play

Cool ... she's right into it!! She looks so much shorter than the other girls, but isn't intimidated at all it seems.

She is quite the mean player. She isn't mean as in a dirty player, its just she has to be around the ball at all times and is VERY agressive toward the ball!!! She has never been in any type of organized sports and just took to scoccer like a duck to water. Even during practice when they run a lap around the field, she makes sure she comes in first, even though it is not a race.

These are pretty good shots. I like the second one quite a bit. I've been wondering where you've been. That schedule sounds horrible. Hopefully, you are back to normal now.

I would wake at 3:30am, work from 4:30 to 4:30, get home and eat, shower, and get in bed around 7:30.

Here is another one I really like after I cropped some and colorized a little

A strong, competitive spirit it seems. What position does she play? Or do they get swapped around at that age still?
I played as a kid also and was good enough to play in the state team for my age group. I played wings or halfs.

She plays goalie for the first half and forward (wing) for the second half. There are only 6 players per team at a time (goalie, two backs, and three forwards). They do keep in their zones better than I thought they would. I thought it would just be "swarm the ball and kick" game, but I was wrong.

She was discovered as a good goalie when during their first game last weekend, they were down 9-0 at half, the coach put her in as goalie and she held them scoreless with 8 shots on goal (they still lost 9-0). They play that team again tomorrow. When they played them, they had only one practice and was not very organized.

I like the strong colors and vividness in all the shots. Esp. like the drama in the last one- the arm movements are great and they are kind of framed by the goalpost.
