Default In a Funk - Now I'm Back

After my trip to the east coast I really went into a funk. Didn't touch my camera for over a month. When I did it was a bit of a disaster. Tried taking pictures of the Carabana (Caribbean festival parade). Plopped myself at the end of the parade route and waited. I was there for 4 hours and only three mediocre floats went by. I didn't see any of the amazing costumes that take a year to prepare such as the one in this link.

I have no idea why they didn't go all the way to the end. Attached is what I did managed to capture.

I then decided to try something completely different. Get some pics of mountain bike racing. This was probably more disappointing. Got there too late for the start of the race, Anyway hiked up the trail and caught a few bikers racing down this hill. Holy crap do they ever go fast. Again in a hour and a half I only saw about 6 bikers. So had little chance to perfect the technique I would need. Here are the disappointing results.

p.s. When I got there the sun was behind some clouds so lighting was good .... but no bikers. By the time they came along the sun was out causing awful lighting conditions with it shining between the trees ... as you can see.

This past weekend I went to the Toronto Buskerfest. I think I got some decent pictures. I might be finally getting a little of my Mojo back. Buskerfest pictures to follow in other posts.

Sorry for the funk asnow. I really like the jolly guy in the orange shirt in the first set. Bike shots are decent!

Thanks Marko, Bambi for the encouragement. That guy with the orange shirt was quite the character as he was shuffling along the sidewalk. Here is another one of him as he caught me taking his picture

Funks happen. There have been times when I've simply deleted just about everything I took. Sometimes the only reason I saved any at all was to have "I was here" pictures. Keep snapping.

Glad to see ya' out of your funk and back at it ASnow.
Some nice variety here and also like that first orange shirt shot along with the cycling action.
Reality is a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there!

Thanks Marko. I like that second orange guy shot, but I didn't initially post it as I missed the exposure by also a stop. Had to work at it to bring this much out.

Thanks HBG - As you can tell from my comments I wasn't totally happy with the cycling shots, but since you like them I perhaps I was too hard on myself. I do know though I could do better if I had a second chance at this sport. Even with the limit opportunities I did learn a few things.
