    Default You guys'll think I've gone nuts but...

    ...lately I'm fascinated by a high key/high contrast black and white look. And it just so happens that both of my favourites so far are of my son having tantrums (one is from a few years ago, mind you, and no I'm not a sadist ;-) I'm sooo behind the times.

    I see why you like them. I like the 2nd one most because of the downlight at the top.

    Not just the top light, but his posture says it a lot in the second shot. The first doesn't show us what's happening, if you hadn't told us, I'd be scratching my head, trying to figure it out. The second is great, my only concern is a shadow on the right?

    Yes I wish it was as easy as cropping or cloning that out- it's a wooden bar stool. It wasn't a staged composition by any means- I was playing with the monochrome pre-set in my camera in conjunction with high iso, didn't think I was shooting anything I'd want to keep. But then I liked the way it looked when I pushed contrast even further in Lightroom.
