    Default Foam Party

My friend DJ Chrome and I (Hard Hittin n Dirrrrty Entertainment) did a Foam Party tonight, well, last night... in conjunction with Halo Inc. Entertainment. Just got home about half an hour ago and need to unwind, 6 Red Bulls tend to wind me up a bit, so I'm working on a few photos I took. This is one of my favourites that I took tonight. The song I got a Feeling by the Black Eyed Peas was on when I took this shot and I think it describes the moment perfectly. 'I got a feeling... that tonite is gonna be a good good nite!'

Here's the light show during sound check. Combined between sound equipment and lighting, roughly 60/40 respectively, $23,000 worth of equipment. We were at a constant 130db average and pumped it to 145db for about 45 minutes. It was roughly 12,000 watts for a 3200 sq ft room. Nutty...

When I wasn't DJing and out taking pictures etc. in the front of house, I was wearing earplugs, until I lost them. Slight ringing from the hour or so without them...

A foam party is where you put a light soapy solution through a vaccum line and then it's blown by a fan, creating a foam that smells lie dish soap. Personally I think it's disgusting... but kids these days... Here's a picture of the foam pit.

This was out in Abbotsford, where I live. It's about 45 minutes from Vancouver. This wasn't at a club either. Believe it ot not, this was actually a theatre room that is attached to the Abbey Arts Center. It's usually used for rehearsals and small performances or dry runs for theatre prductions.

We turned this room into the best night club east of Downtown Vancouver and better than more than half of the dt clubs for one night. The guys we were in partnership doubted we could do it and we had to prove them wrong. We've got some video footage, going ot put one up on Youtube when it's done. We were going over some footage today, the one clip, the first after we were set up, around the same time as the sound check photo above, you can hear both of us say "Wow." in an amazed kind of way. I'll post a link once that's up.

We've had 3 calls today from people wanting us to put on parties like this because of the show we put on last night. We are thinking of a party like this once a month for now, minus the foam, it is a pain to clean up. I was very happy it was up to Halo to clean that mess up, we had our setup down in less than an hour, haha, 5 hrs to setup, less than 1 to tear down.

Kat, are you moving out this way or just visiting sometime? If you want to know about clubs, let me know, I can direct you to the best clubs in the area, whether you're downtown or in the Burbs.
