So ... anyone thought of a subject for March yet?

I haven't looked at previous assignments much but here's a few ideas ...

    Happy

    Wood

    Texture

    Freedom

    Strength

    Sound

Heeeeeeey cooooome on! Don't make me make all the suggestions. Mine could be crap.

You lot throw in some ideas here as well
It's easy ... just give it some

    which assignment, MA?

    never mind.

my vote is for... something green. photograph something green. ya, that's it. that's the ticket.

Although I like the green theme - up here in Canada, in March everything outdoorsy will still be white...or ugly melting white.....

    Here's a tricky one...

Wind. March is known (at least in Canada) to be a windy month. Not sure how to take a photo of the wind but I suspect that's what would make it challenging.

    Iguanasan

that is a great idea Igs!!!

    Wind sounds fine to me

Wind in March for me means windchill of -40!!!!!

LOL..I'm in but it's not going to be pretty

Windchill was -34 here today but I think I got a photo for the wind theme.

can these be old photos? or are they something new taken for this?

The idea of an assignment is to go out and take a photo specifically for this.

Seeing as Marko hasn't yet officially sanctioned a theme for March yet there are no photos in existence that really qualify.

In the end though it's up to you. If you want to challenge yourself then wait and take ... if you want to just take a quick way out then post an old photo.

Good God Raiven ... -34!! I think the windchill here is about +34 here today.

    i woke up to -37. barf-o-rama.
if it stays this cold out, my 'wind' pic will likely be an oldie...

    You don't have windows?

I figured thats the way it was. I have some really good wind pictures I was going to share, but will hold off on them. I like the idea of a challenge anyways.

    You learn more by doing

Hey Kat ... set the camera up by the window on 10 sec timer ... then toss the cat out the front door. With some luck and good timing I'm sure you could get a great 'wind' shot as the frozen feline flashes fast past the frame!!!

Hmm..I was thinking more along the lines of cracking an egg and taking photos of it's progress to see how long it takes to freeze..then put up the start middle and end with times..ha ha..with your heat..you can fry yours :P

Seriously..I've been thinking. It may take a week or two but I'll come up with something!!!! Although I should probably wait till we have the topic..ha ha

naw, we dont believe in windows this far north in canada... glass is just too precious a commodity. deer hide blankets and eskimos kisses are the only thing to keep a person warm.

You have only deer hides for windows but you have high speed internet ... way to set to your priorities there Kiley

So Marko .... is WIND the official theme for March then?

I also think wind is a great and challenging theme.

    anyone else?

    thx

    Ok members,

The suggestion posts have been merged and the theme for this month is WIND. Thanks to Iggy for this particular suggestion; there were many good ones!

    Default Counting Crows

Took this photo a couple of days ago. It was minus 31. I had mitts on over my gloves. I guess that is a testament to the handlability (<< made up word) of Nikon's cameras.

This is a fun subject. Here is crop of another photo for detail.

    Default Wind

Well..I don't know when the next windy day is going to be and if I'll get out.

I thought of this shot while getting ready this morning..my only source of warm wind until the summer

Until I can get out and get a true blue "wind" shot this will have to do.

    And it does quite nicely!

Now, I've made the suggestion and with today being a day of freezing rain I'll have to wait to get out and find some wind I don't mind standing in to take a photo!

Hey good start to the monthly assignment girls.

Raiven has found a shot with a heap of Raiven's in it ... cool.

And self portraits of Kat are always going to be pleasing.

Hey Kat ... I'm sure that hair dryer isn't the only source of hot air around. Try having more beans and cabbage for dinner
