Should have cleaned it first I know but wife was doing work for Uni and I didn't want to disturb her.
I'd say that stuff gives the photo more character and a bit of a peak into every day life. The salt shaker, coca-cola tumbler & tin of chocolate all give us an insight into every day life. If those items weren't there, the photo would become a bit more sterile and really not tell us anything.
I agree with your comment russ! I like this shot ericmark!
I hate trucks on my tail ! . . . :yell:
I captured this scene by shooting the image in my driver's side door mirror.
you had better go faster Jimmy!

You had better run, run faster Bambi ! Haha - jimmy
Great image Jimmy.
There were a pair on them. They got bored with proclaiming their ownership of the bridge, especially since everyone ignored their assertions.

Sorry everyone, never really paid much attention to some of the other areas of site, other than photos in main posting areas. Lot of beautiful photo's here to catch up on.
Went for a walk around a local lake the other day and this log / hole combo caught my eye.

Do you have a Microsoft Office suite installed Kat? If so, look in the start menu in the Microsoft Office folder and then in the Microsoft Office Tools folder ... in that is the Microsoft Office Picture Manager which has some basic editing including a good little resizing feature. I can send a document that explains how to do that if you need.
There's also an online picture resizing option or two around ... like this Free Online Picture Resizer - Crop and Resize photos, images, or pictures online for FREE! ... very easy to use :) Again I have a document ;)
Thanks MA. I'm on my mother in laws puter..and time is retrained when it comes to computer use. I have nothing on here..and of course..all my shots are in RAW..so over to jpeg for this one..lol.
One more week!!! :)
I really like the postings - very creative group on this forum:thumbup:
My contribution is a very simple shot from downtown Montreal, but I liked how the perspective almost gave the impression that it wasn't a building but some sort of platform leading to.....well, nowhere...
Nice shot, mike!
"High Density" simply exceptional. My favorite so far Lisa. Well done - jimmy :)
Captured with a Lensbaby 2.0 and given a vintage tone
Wow - you all have so nice unusual shots here. Like them a lot. I'll give this one a try:

Actually, reflections of trees in a frozen stream. But rotated 180° to give the illusion of trees in mist.
Mike
Offered in the spirit of the theme. I knew I wasn't going to get clean shots with this, because I don't have a polarizing filter. I just decided to see how the reflections played with the display. Brought out the differences as best I could. So are you looking at the reflection, or the display behind it? (It's MK Nature Center's main class area. They have a series of stations where you can view the habitat for the fish. It actually feeds off the river nearby, so you get both wild and what Fish and Game stocks)
Gotta go back to Marko's image. Very powerful stuff. I remember my mom having photos like that. They came back from the drugstore or wherever(?) in little booklets like that with the scalloped edges. Square pictures. My mom had an old Kodak that took 127 rolls of film (I think that is right). It had a built in flash that you screwed individual bulbs into. Needless to say flash photos were taken sparingly. Recently my sister has been scanning those old photos and posting them on flickr. Some are of my dad who is now 88 and frail, and sometimes not totally in the "now" time frame, and has just recently moved into a seniors home. So I totally relate to that photo. Nice work and sorry for the little off topic side trip.
I've been struggling to post much lately(although I have been lurking at time trying to keep up :) )
Thought I'd have a crack at a shot for the assignment. This was inspired by one of the shots earlier in the thread and similar I have seen on flickr.
I kind of like how this turned out...a wider lens and better lighting would have got the exact result I was after.

Thanks so much for the comments on my photo.
Antz this shot is wonderful. very creative and playful!

cool! Here's a different type of horse power. My friends were getting some logs harvested on their property. There will be a whole thread on this in the 'show your photo' but I wanted to show the communication between the man and his horse through two narrow strips of leather as well as capture the history of this type of logging.

I enjoyed your photo "Remembering" Marko. There is something special about candle light - jimmy :)
Bambi, what a cool capture. I hope you remembered to watch your step ! - jimmy
