Default The Decade's Most Powerful Images

The Decade's Most Powerful Images according to the German news site Spiegel. As per usual I think they are powerful images but I disagree whether they would all fall into the category of the decades most powerful. Anyway have look for yourselves.

Thanks for the link A.L. Some very powerful images there, but I'm with you, THE most powerful....depends on your point of view.

I don't think 'Most Powerful' is the right description. I found very few of those would have rated in my top 100 'most powerful' of the decade.

But I guess it depemds on your own definition of powerful.

I notice that on the content page they say ... "Reuters has released its best press photos of the decade. SPIEGEL ONLINE presents a selection."

So it appears originally the collection was for "Best Press Photos" ... not most powerful at all. I think there's a huge difference between those two descriptions/categories.

I agree with M.A. here. The pictures are very American-centric for the most part. The one of Michael Jackson is more like world's most famous wing nut and the Paris Hilton one would be most famous for being unbelievably vapid.

I too have to agree with MA. There were a couple there that sent pure raw emotion for the event that happened but some others..I don't know. Maybe because I can't see how they are powerful. Then again..maybe it's just me.

I was thinking the EXACT same thing. VERY American-centric.

Yes for a German news source I was expecting a more worldly assortment of photos like I find their site. Like I said in my original post some are powerful but that is just a few and my top 10 would be vastly different than what they chose, not sure if they would make my top 100 of the past decade either, just like to see what others see and what people perceive as their top whatever types of photos, I just find them interesting to compare what they choose to what I might consider picking.
