I remember one of the very first photography books I ever bought back in the early 80s (The Joy of Photography by Eastman Kodak staff) had photos by Gordon Parks (amongst others). They obviously made a lasting impression as I still remember them.
I have recently borrowed from the library "The Great LIFE Photographers" The Great LIFE Photographers: The Editors of LIFE, John Loengard, Gordon Parks: 9780316097932: Amazon.com: Books. I recommend it to anyone who wants to be inspired.
