I don't know what to think about this 'cause I'm big into their software. Never really cared for the marketing and sales division as they would screw the consumer if allowed, but I use Capture NX 2 for my raw file and don't believe theres a better product out there for Nikon users. Their plug-in are fabulous. Don't mess this up, Google.

I'd be worried. It seems far too often when a larger company takes over a smaller company, the product gets worse.

Does this mean Silver Effects Pro will get renamed to Chrome Effects Pro.

I'm not sure I see the usefulness of this purchase. They already have picnik for editing...

The people that are most likely to use the product probably already have it...and if they don't have it, will they go to Google or G+ to use it? Hmmmm

I'm guessing that this is to compete against facebook but I don't see how it will work.

I'm not the hugest fan of facebook's interface but nearly 90% of people I personally know use it.

G+ on the other hand... in terms of people I know, has only been adopted by photographers and techies. I'd say maybe 5% of people I personally know use it.

I don't see google catching up with facebook anytime soon in that space. Google is expert in other spaces. IMO if they want to compete with facebook, they need to revamp G+ - It has not caught on for the masses.
