A Potrait is Born (Sort of)

Was not sure exactly where to put this but here we go.
I took this shot with my little point and shoot at a weddiing I attended on the weekend.

Typical problems, redeye, harsh flash, etc.



They are a cute couple, perhaps a few creative edits will help. First I cropped, fixed the redeye, decreased saturation a bit, softened the highlights on Vikki's face a bit in Lightroom. Then to Elements where I resized the image and put it into Topaz Adjust, slapped on a border and a sig and this is what we get. Both photos were resized in flickr for posting here.




Obviously, they will have tons of professional photos from their photographers so I tried for something unusual which (I hope) saved the day on a not so great point and shoot photo. What do you think?

Interesting story and it definitely makes for an interesting and much nicer result than the original. It does show, however, the need to get it right in camera. Even with all that editing there are still a few elements which detract from the photo a bit to a "photo geek". Most people won't notice the harsh shadow that's still on the wall or the exacerbation of the razor burn rash on his neck but when you put the image under a microscope like we do here day in and day out these things tend to jump out at you.

You've certainly made an improvement. I often like the kind of treament you have used to enhance an image for something differnent(especially action shots). In this case it is has saved the image. IG has made some valid points, and I think most could be fixed with some more processing time.
