    Default Solitude Aeturnus

Indian pipe is a wildflower that is wide-spread, but difficult to find and even worse to photograph. I love it though and keep trying. Without chlorophyll it takes its nutrients from the soil. Pale and ghostly, they fascinate me.

While this isn't my ideal image, I do like the moody quality of deep woods which is where I found it. It's also strange to find only one - they usually grow in clumps.

Definitely hard to photograph for sure, but looks like you did quite a fine job of it.
We have seen these up in Algonquin Park in the past, very interesting plants for sure. Most people think they are a type of fungi.
Reality is a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there!
