    Default Rügen - The Storm

    Hello folks!

I'm back from a short 3 day trip to the sea. From where I live in Germany it took an 8 hour drive but it was worth it. We went to the island Rügen which has so many photography opportunities... I could have stayed a week or two and not run out of things to shoot.

I went shooting sunset, sunrise, sunset, sunrise, sunset all with different light and clouds and all with a unique atmosphere. And here's the last Sunset. I had planned to head down to the beach at Binz where we stayed an hour before sunset but then a heavy thunderstorm started. Well I was just hoping that the lightning would stop in time, because I didn't want to photograph at the exposed beach and get electrified ;-) Fortunately after like 20 minutes there was only heavy rain left and I grabbed my umbrella (my newest favourite photography epuipment) put my camera on the tripod and went to the beach.

It was awesome! at the horizon the light came though lighting the whole scene with such intense colors. The only problem was I could have used some more hands ;-) holding the umbrella above the camera, while adjusting tripod legs to get it level, cleaning the lense from rain, changing camera settings and so on is quite hard.... But I managed and the camera stayed dry.. only I got drenched but thats ok, i was so excited I didn't even notice.

Hope you like this shot. I got very excited when I saw the boat lying there and instantly knew I had to shoot it.

    cheers

Beautiful capture Mibreit. Lovely composition with the boat, sky, and the pier extending out into the water in the background, very well balanced.
Also like the movement of the wind in the flags. Very well done.
Reality is a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there!

Excellent work. Thanks for sharing. The flags in the breeze make this shot. Mike
