    Welcome to the forum, rhollang! I hope you enjoy yourself here at Photography.ca.

    I like the shot, I really get the sense that someone is offering up the apple to me. I prefer to give a proper critique in the critique forum as then I know you are expecting a full critique but since you asked for comments I'll make a couple. The biggest issue I see with composition is that there is part of a finger missing From a technical standpoint I would have preferred a much deeper depth of field.

    Yeah you are right about the finger, i haven't notice this... and i would consider a deeper depth of field next time,

    After a while it will be all instinct, but for now it's some job to keep all the "rules" straight.

    Another thing I might do is isolate her arm more. Right now it's kind of lost in a blob of coat and jeans. If she were holding it away from her body across the grass it might work a bit better. Good instincts though. This has the makings of something interesting.
