Hi Bambi, it is a beach shelter. Somewhere to hide from the wind and the rain during a traditional Irish Summer. There are move further along the coast that were used as men's and women's changing areas. On the other side of the sae wall would have been a popular swimming area before pollution and shipping lanes ruined it. Some people still swim here but usally there is charity fund-raising involved!
