    Default Junction Mountain Lookout

A long, steep hike yesterday led me up to a high mountain fire lookout in the Highwood Range. I met Laszlo who lives there about three months of the year. The fire risk is low right now so he didn't have much to do except offer me tea and a guided tour of the facility and the area. The 360° view is stunning.

The lookout (Calgary is on the far left horizon)

Wind Sock and View (it was windy and cold up there)

    Flowers with Mountains

    Steep Valley View

The last two are my favourites. A very nice set.

Lovely shots all, but I particularly like the isolation feeling I get from the windsock pic.
Reality is a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there!

EdG, Iguanasan, Lizardqing, Hillbillygirl and XPWizard: thanks for the compliments, and glad you enjoyed the photos. It was an excellent day, and I'm planning my next hike already.
