Default A Special Moment Along The Stream

This was a great visit on this stream today. As I was enjoying it and taking some photos and older gentleman sat down on the bench behind me with a friend. He was wearing a ball cap stating that he was a veteran. I thanked him for his service and we had some small talk. I made a comment about how beautiful the spot was and he told me that he could not see it since he was blind. I apologized cause I felt bad but he told me not to worry about it. He told me that he had lost his vision in battle and that since the last thing he saw was the ugliness of battle he enjoys coming out into the outdoors and just sit and see it how he does now, with his ears. The way he described how the sounds of the water sing to him more beautifully than you can get from only watching it was stunning and really touched me deep down. I will never be around a stream again and think the same.

So this photo taken today on our Veterans Day is dedicated to all the veterans and that they can forever enjoy the peacefulness that the world has to offer as this gentleman does, they deserve it more than any.

This is a moment where the old saying is definitely reversed. I'm sorry Chris, as lovely and well done as your pic is. "Words are worth a thousand pictures" in this case.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful pic. and the heartfelt story associated with it.
Reality is a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there!
