    Default Kaua'i Landscapes

A very beautiful Hawaiian island that we were fortunate to be able to vacation on. It's quite small and relatively undeveloped, so travel times are short to all the sights. We caught a fair share of rain, but that made the photography more interesting. Almost all my shots have clouds. Please visit my Flickr photostream for many, many more images.

    Default Three More Beach Shots

First two shots are at Polihale State Park on the West side of the island. It is a huge, nearly deserted beach that marks the end of the road as far as vehicle traffic goes to the north side of the island because of the mountain terrain.

Beautiful...simply beautiful! My favorite image is definitely #4. Love the colors in the crashing wave! #5 is also spectacular, but begs for the turquoise house in the waves. Great set!
Keep an eye on that 'Tools of the Trade' project thread in the assignments forum...I try to add new pictures often!

Thanks for your comments. I struggled to use black and white on the beach shot, but I find it more evocative this way. Appreciate the detailed run through, Runmonty.

very nice set, Mike. Makes me wonder if we (wife and I) should consider Kauai rather than the big island. Looks wonderful. But I sooooo wanna take pictures of a live volcano .... maybe the following year off to Kauai ...
