Awesome Casil, especially that first one. I'd love to see a big print of that one. It is definitely worthy of being on the wall.

Oh wow, lovely shots all, Casil. If I had to pick a fave, it would have to be those last two fog shots. Just beautiful. Hmmmmmmm, then again, I REALLY like the ice in #1, AND the pp in #3 really makes the scene. Just an awesome set overall.
Reality is a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there!
Thanks HBG....I like the fog ones best overall as well.![]()

Abraham lake is well known (featured by Darwin Wiggett in many of his Rockies shots) for its bubble formations in the ice in winter. Abraham Lake is a man made lake (North Saskatchewan River was damned and flooded in the 70's) and supplies hydro power to the city of Red Deer and other town along the way. The decomposing vegetation beneath the lake releases methane gas which bubbles up and becomes encased in ice and stacked on top of each other as the ice gets thicker in winter. These bubbles come all shapes and sizes andc create the neatest abstract formations!

A painter takes their vision and makes it a reality. A photographer takes reality and makes it their vision.
Great set. To try to find a favourite would be a bit like trying to choose between your kids. Each has outstanding elements that I really like. Congratulations
Looks like the trip was worthwhile and enjoyable.
On day 1 we hiked into a place called The Galleria...a slot canyon on the Cline River that had this awesome frozen waterfall. Very popular with ice climbers on the weekend. On a Wednesday, we were the only ones there!
