    Default Airport Trail Loop Panorama

Second day of the vacation. In the afternoon we decided to hike the Airport Trail Loop. Somehow it said .6 of a mile. Well, I can take that any day ; for one reason or another this trail did not want to end, though. Up and down we went along the edge of the mesa, covering 750 feet of altitude difference. Finally, after 3.5 miles we arrived back from where we started. My left knee was shot. Re-injured an old ouchieee I got from sliding down a grassy embankment on one of my previous photo trips about three years back (loaded up with camera gear on my back for whatever reason I don't know). Anyhow, this was one of the first impressions I got; tip for anyone taking the same trail: do it counterclockwise. This way you will have better light on the mountains in the afternoon. We did it clockwise, starting off right after lunch, with the harshest light. Had we done it counterclockwise, I would have had nice afternoon sun on all this. Hmmmm. One learns ....

as per usual, click on the image for the full size pano. Well, the sized to 1200 high pano; the full sized one is a bit big (1/2 a gig or so). And I guess for one reason or another you will have to click on the image that opens up to see it full size ....

Lovely image, and it looks good even small. Dang, the big one is hard on my bandwidth. And if you remember to plan according to where the light will be, you'll be doing better than I am.
