Apparently this area is one of the worlds best kept surfing secrets. The lighthouse keeper was telling me all about it when we were there. Waves like that rival Waimea Bay.

MA - that's a really scary wave! I prefer the sand area at the beach at our less dangerous Baltic Sea ;-).

Well tick one up for the 'Madster' ... he managed to stop Bambi talking

I watched a TV show yesterday on surfing big waves in South Australia. They took 8 top surfing juniors and put them in 6m surf! These guys were about 16 - 18yrs old I think.
Amazing stuff! You can't paddle into these waves ... they are too fast ... and start to break about 2km out so the boys had to be towed in by Jetski while standing on their boards.

last time that happened was well....according the hubby it never has

but I think that there was this one time in the 90's.....

I can't imagine looking at those waves and thinking 'ooh that'll be fun'.

and your vacation trips are awesome. I have to get to Austrailia some time
