I've been focusing on portraiture lately, so I decided to take my camera outdoors for a change.

I'm not sure what exactly works about this picture (if anything!) but I like it

For this image I think it could work a filter that gives you the paint impression, a preset in Photoshop, Lightroom or Aperture, or in what software do you use.

Awww ... and I wanted to say something nice for the first shot I've seen of yours too CLP ... but I'm afraid nothing appeals in that one. Sorry about that.

Hey ... I was just thinking ... if it was a watercolour effect you were looking for ... then it's brilliant!

I'm on my laptop here which is average, but I like parts of this image big time. It has an Asian feel and I find the leaves very pleasing.

Haha! Yes, that was sort of the idea. I know it's a bit too light, but any darker and it sort of lost the effect I was going for (plus, it seems wildly different on different monitors).

It was basically an experiment - I'll hopefully improve on it at some point.

That's an idea, though I have to say I generally try to stay away from artistic filters... but it would be good to learn to use them in a subtle way. (I use Photoshop CS2.)

I am jumping on the bandwagon of liking this capture. It's high key but soft as well.

perhaps a very dumb question but would this be a shot that the orton would work on?
