Not really here in the black swamp area. We are mostly swamp and mosquitos with a ton of oak trees.

Photography is more than just taking a picture and freezing the action, or leaving the shutter open. It is more than orchestrating the image with the stroke of a brush. Its the realization and explanation that reality is an isolated experience in which only a specific individual can comprehend during any given time period. - Your Truly!

Funny MA... Calgary was historically nicknamed "Sandstone City"

Most of the older buildings here are made from sandstone because of city building codes enacted aftert a huge fire destroyed much of the city's then main street in 1886.
Most of the sandstone for the buildings was quarried in about 15 quarries around what was then the outskirts of the city... now much of it is considered inner city!

We have sandstone too on the southern westcoast of Vancouver Island past Sooke.

Here's some cliffs I found the other day and HDR'd made of sandstone at a place called Raven Rocks in Fish Creek park.

Interesting. Something I'd never considered was how wide spread sandstone was throughout the world.
