Default The creek meanders....and Lisa just about gets hypothermia!

i almost ended up in the creek trying to get this shot...lol I spotted it yesterday but the batteries died due to the cold, so right back there this morning.
Anyhow, Firstly it's right in the middle of the creek on a rock island and to get there I had to try and see if the ice would hold me...so I decided to chance it. Great stuff...it did! So I clamber on the rocks and along this big shelf of sheer ice to try and get to the prize that I've been seeing in my head since yesterday. No worries all is good so far.
I set up the tripod and get the camera on there and I'm good to go so down on my butt to get ready to take the shot. All of a sudden the tripod starts sliding on the ice heading towards the creek with the camera firmly planted on top! CRAP! So I start sliding on after it. I caught the camera but I'm still moving...on an icy downward slope heading right towards the creek! Oh eff!! I say and the more I struggle the faster I move with nothing to stop me! I finally manage to catch my foot on a tiny rock sticking out of the ice... it holds and I stop moving right before I'm about to get dunked...I thought i was in the creek for sure!
Scrambling back up the ice slope was no picnic either...I just slowly grabbed onto rocks sticking out wherever I could find them and pulled myself up bit by bit.
Must've looked pretty funny the whole ordeal...thank goodness it was too early for anybody else to be out!
    Anyhow here's the shot....

This is beautiful Lisa! Well worth the near disaster. I can clearly see you going after the camera.

I hope it didn't do more damage to your foot though!

It is a wonderful image and I'm glad you didn't get dunked!
