Iris

This is a discussion on Iris within the Show your photo (Color) - Landscape & Nature (flowers, mountains, storms etc.) forums, part of the Photography & Fine art photography category; I know the background is pretty busy in this, but it is still one of my faves........

Lovely flower. It is a shame the background has so much distraction. Maybe you can shoot it with a much wider aperture and blur that background up more?

You may be able to get someone to hold something like a black card, a floral cloth perhaps, behind it and make a better shot that way too.

Except for the background this is absolutely lovely.

Interesting shot, I actually thought you included the background deliberately because the framing is not bad if you did. Thought maybe you were making a statement about nature/sprawl etc.

No, don't get rid of the background. It serves a function here. It shows the interesting angle at which you took it. It give a 3D feeling to the picture. If you really want to improve it a little, maybe try to lighten up the flower in respect to the background. But I think it's a really interesting picture as it is! I like it...
