    Default Ghosts in the Mist

this is all that remains of a ferry dock that once served cross-lake travelers between Kirkland and Seattle. the ferry operated from the early 1900's till about the end of WWII, but the construction of the floating bridges across the lake spelled the end for the steam ferries. the docks have quietly moldered away, leaving nothing but a few rows of old, decaying pilings, ghosts of the past, marching into the mist... 5D, 24-135 @ 24mm, 1/320 @ f/5.6

very cool SQ - So many ways you can render an image like this, but at the end it's the simplicity that makes it work.

    thanks, everyone!

oddly enough, Marko, there was very little rendering involved. this is almost straight from the camera... just a little smoothing and removing a few small distractions like a small buoy in the distance and a couple of dust bunnies... this is not converted to B&W... it's the original color shot. it was just so foggy that morning, there was no color to be seen! everything was shades of gray...
