When we were driving along this area I said to my wife "A shot of this might actually interest the Canadians because when they need water they just go and plug into the nearest lake ... and there's always a 'nearest lake' in Canada. But over here there isn't. So we make them.
Lake Somerset is a dam so those trees are flooded. Under there somewhere are peoples homes from many years ago also.
In Aussie, on similar dams/ lakes, the areas where there is a lot of trees sticking out of the water, we call 'The Timbers' or 'The Sticks'. Good finishing in and around the 'Timbers'![]()
