    Default Dappled sunlight

Found these as yet mysterious plants in a small brook off trail amongst some skunk cabbages. Just liked the way the light hit them in the afternoon -

Anyone know what they are? I'll probably be back there to photograph the cabbages when they bloom, so if these have flowers too, I should be able to identify them.

thanks MA, it's hard to get sunlight in the forest to come out well. I pitch more than I show, but I'm getting there. I will have to check the EXIF, but these might be on manual focus. I find I'm using it more and more because it gives me precision over and above AF.

I throw plenty away too Sometimes they are fine but if I have others that just as good there's no point keeping them all. But often they just aren't up to the quality I want.

I'm happy with 5 out of 100, but sometimes I get more. So picky these days, but that's how we develop our craft.

If I'm shooting with auto bracketing I can easily be tossing 95 out of 100 away as well.

If get more specific ... maybe after a particular look ... my keeper rate lifts thankfully. I might only throw away 1 in 10 on a good day ... I'd say around half is more usual though. Can't say I've really taken close notice so I'm guessing here.

Dappled light can be difficult though as you say! I find either zooming right in or zooming right back to be more successful in this case.

New leaves make the best "stained glass" effect. I'm enjoying the color.

Love that first shot especially WD, very well done. I'm a little stumped on the species, but have a few ideas. Will look them up and try to find out for ya'.
Reality is a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there!
