1/8000 seems like a lightning fast shutter speed here...can I ask why so high for a sunset shot?

Does the result not speak for itself?That's SOOC other than a very slight saturation.
Basically by using a very higher shutter speed (I could have chosen a higher f-stop and slower shutter speed of maybe 1/4000th or less) I only capture the brightest part of the scene and relegate the rest into darkness. Some people don't like that so much, but I do, so I do![]()
The result is a stark area of colour against a definitive area of darkness which contrasts it.
First one. I like the way the sun is peeking out from underneath the cloud and through the branches.
