Pimp Juice - Provides traction for slicks for drag racing.

Montezooooma - My friends 80 Monte Carlo with a 305ci that gets mistaken for a big block all the time. We spent at least 3 nights a week building this car the last few months. He melted down a piston at the end of the season last year and decided to do a full build.

So why only a 305? Why not something bigger in the smallblock range if smallblocks are the preference? Looking for revs?
Does the 305 use the same block as the 307? (and I think the 350 and 383 too right?)

Why does it get mistaken for a BB? I wouldn't think it sound as deep or have you guys got an exhaust on it that seems to imitate a 454 ?

Yes it is the same block as the 307, 350 and what the strokers use. He wanted to kep the 305 to prove that you can get good power out of it and compete in this class without a 350. The cam is huge in this thing, he bored about 30 over. He put an X pipe on behind the headers, that's one thing that makes it rumble good. We also made the exhaust in a D pattern instead of a complete O.

We formed the headers and the collectors ourselves, testing about a half dozen times before getting it right then built the exhaust for it.

We've got this about as quick and powerful as it can be. We hope to put it on a dyno in a couple weeks, hoping for 400 at the wheels. I'm strapping my focus down and I'm hoping to read out 200+ without scattering my motor out the tailpipe. It's funny that although my car is built for everything BUT drag racing, on street tires I'm about 100th of a second slower than him in the 1/4 mile.
