I am with Matt who is with M.A. on this. It used to be that Marko chose an image from all the photos not just the nominated ones and the only reason he started to choose from the pool of nominees was to cut down on the number of photos he had to go through in a month. At least that is my understanding of it. so if he wants to add to the pool, not a problem. The winner of the members vote gets to choose their nominees anyway. so we have a member's selection and Marko's selection. Works for me.

Although I haven't been following the forum for that long a time, I like it that Marko chooses a Best of Month photo and explains why. I understand it is his subjective choice which is fine with me, since it's art after all. It makes sense that he can nominate as well, since Marko is one of the group. I also like the idea of last month's winner picking five favorites.
Just to throw in another wrinkle, I have wondered why one or more of the assignment pictures isn't picked as the top of the heap. That would offer us more feedback about our work.

I agree with Mike about the assignment picture. A lot of stuff gets posted one right on top of the other and I think some of the photos are never even seen.

Again, makes no difference to me but if it bothers you Marko, you do what you think is best for you.

EDITED BY ADMIN - Casil I thought your idea was a good enough one so that it merited its own thread. Hope that's cool Marko.
