    Default General Photo Area

I think it might be an idea to have an area outside of the C&C for people to post photos (Hot Linked of their own work). I am fairly new to using a DSLR and for me this is just a hobby and not really into C&C. When I actually do feel a photo is good enough to post I know it has flaws but just like it. I do this strictly for fun and at times I have posted a photo for C&C when I know I am doing something wrong but other times just looking to share. So just another suggestion. Also a welcome area may be worth thinking about. A forum for letting new members introduce themselves may be a bit more welcoming. As always just ideas I am throwing about. I have been going over past threads and this site is great just and hate to see good advice go by the wayside.

I think those are good ideas! Thanks so much! I'll try and implement some of those ideas this coming week.

    best!

i hadnt read this thread until just now.
i think AL is suggesting the same sort of forum as i was, with the general sharing of photos.
i really agree with the idea of a welcome mat forum, for all those guests/lurkers to introduce themselves and get involved with the conversations. it would be a great ice-breaker spot.

Too bad, the site software cannot program a spam filter to search for the use of repetitive words that indicate the presence of spam and then automatically delete posts such as the above.

This actually has many built in spam filters but spammers are a crafty bunch....ad this week I'm offline more than online which is very very very rare.
I'll add another filter when I return home next week.
You should know though that quoting the spammer with his/her links intact makes the spammers really happy.
    Thx
