So, for this photo I used:
Canon 650D, Sigma 70-300 (which has "Macro" mode) and Macro extension tubes. ISO 800, 1/1000.
I usually don't use so much AF...Manual is my favorite. It is more difficult, but I like it..It is more exciting to control everything and when it is a good result, the satisfaction is greater...
So, to this photo, how to have a better depth of field?
I know, it's an old story... Insects don't stand still. When is about flowers...well...I know...Tripod... Here everything is done in hurry...But...
Please, tell me what I did wrong on this photo.
What software might help me more in Macro photography ?(I have GIMP and Darktable...but I don't use them currently).

i think you're off to a great start on this. what was your aperture? if possible try a smaller aperture to get a little more in focus, always try to get the eyes in focus.

for software help you'll be fine with gimp or darktable.

i'm not sure if gimp does it, but i use photoshop for stacking landscape shots. sometimes i let ps do it for me,. sometimes it doesn't do too well and i mask by hand.

I know Photoshop is the best, but as I am just a beginner, I'll try to get more experience with GIMP (because is ...FREE). I have never tried to stack photos...but as I like Macro photography...I think that it's a must do.

photoshop isn't necessarily best, it's just what i know. the best software out there is what you have access to and know how to use. but look around online and see if gimp has a stacking tool built in.

I saw some tutorials on Youtube. Staking with GIMP...
