Ha! I'm such a GEEK! I was part of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program in high school and also, Student Council. Lol, I guess we were all pretty nerdy since we would laugh at things like "I wish I was helicase so I could unzip *your* genes," and "I wish I was a derivative so I could lie tangent to your curve." LOL! Our friends in the regular program would see us and go "Wow, you guys are so IB." IB having become synonymous with geeky or nerdy.

And the geekiness hasn't stopped in first year uni since my first thought at realizing that the leaves were changing colours, was "oh, chlorophyll A and B are breaking down." I got teased A LOT for that one!

Ah, it's good to be a geek.

My daughter will be joining the IB program next year. She's a geek off the old block

....My mountain bike riding slowed down when I had a stack in the bush and drove my right thigh bone (I'm sure there's a technical name for that) straight through my hip. Punched a hole straight through the acetabulum - the hip socket.

I don't have any side effects as long as I keep riding and keep fit. I think they screwed it together pretty well, but my head still remembers the pain ...

YEOWCH! that sounds awful!! :( what was the recovery time on that?

Recovery time: 2 weeks flat on my back in hospital (pretty well high on drugs from what I can remember ), 12 weeks without any weight bearing, and then I had to strengthen the muscles so I could walk again. I was pretty lucky I was really fit at the time. I actually got back on my bike, very slowly, well before I could walk. The bike helped as it was not very weight bearing.

i drive a pretty little suped up 4X4 (sans geek)
the truck has a working CB radio (kinda geeky)
I have a i386 desktop i built for media storage (kinda geeky)
I have a laptop as well (more than one computer, kinda geeky)
both computers were converted from windoze to linux (REAL geeky)
i use vocabulary like "windoze" (geeky)
I urban freeride a cross country mountain bike (sans geek, i think)
I am an avid snowboarder (sans geek)
I frequent Photography.ca for all of my photography needs (sans geek)


hmmmm.... anything elses i can add....

i get goosbumps in root terminal (real geeky)
I can build my own linesman handset (real geeky)
I actually know what "Phone Phreaking" means and can put it into ation (REAL geeky)

Oh yeh merman ... you're a geek alright. You might even more of a geek than Gem!!

You do have a sliver of hope though ... you ride bikes and snowboard. Neither are geeky. But then you are sooooo Geeky that you think they are so that's a worry! More of those two activities and less of the other geek activities and your soul might be saved!
