Photography swap

This is a discussion on Photography swap within the General photography forums, part of the Photography & Fine art photography category; I think it's a neat idea and I'm with AntZ on the email idea instead of the mail/post idea. That ...

I think it's a neat idea and I'm with AntZ on the email idea instead of the mail/post idea. That way the person can decide on their own to what size they would like it.

I think sending the file by email (although less elegant) makes more sense for most people and will get more people to play along.

I'm perfectly happy to play along....should we make a list? does anyone want to take control of this one?

    thx - Marko

Cool idea. Too bad there isn't an international chain of online photo printers that we could just upload to and make it a local pickup or shorter mailing of the final print. But email though less exciting would still be a lot of fun.

I personally would rather get a photo through the mail rather than email and "if I have the time" print it myself.

I would love to get a photo, signed by a fellow member.

I personally think the extra work and effort put in to it makes it worth that much more.

I can understand cost..but to send an 8x10 isn't that expensive. I think framing photos wouldn't be nescessary as stated prior..we all have our own framing style.

I was thinking of digital signature, but how cool would a real signed photo be I'd be stoked to have something like that hanging on my wall.

I'll have a look at pricing to send to/from Oz. Obviously there are others too outside Canada.

My only fear would be taking something someone would want to hang on their wall. Especially in a given time frame.

I absolutely agree that a real print with real signature would be great. And I would definitely opt in to that- sounds like a blast! Secret santa kinda one of a kind artwork, would be festive, fun and very special.

I'm okay with a real print also, was just thinking about costs overseas...would be kind of a cool thing to do for the Holiday season.
So who wants to set this up?
I am willing to help out someway if need be.....

Well. This months theme is portrait landscape. That is something that is our place and represents who and where we are.

Why don't we use that theme. We can set the end date for just after December. I can start a thread where we can post our best from the month..the one you will send. Names can then be drawn and those who picked a person will get their address on their own. No need to post that for all to see.

Or..if all would like. We can pick a theme, no theme, send what you like. Yadda yadda.

I'm a little more partial to a subject of your favorite shot/best image of 2009 as per Greg.
Makes it a little more personal in my mind.
    Is that okay?
