It was the branches and rock that drew me down to that exact spot in the first place.
But then when processing I just wasn't sure it had worked.
So ... for the 2nd shot ... I tookthe top half of that same shot ... duplicated and flipped it. Then I added some blur, desaturated and adjusted the levels a little for realism to create the shot most people are choosing.

and since my organs are all internal, I have no quibbles about swimming in cold water. although contend that anything around 19 C is perfectly warm swimming water.

I remember when we had some rellies come over from NZ many years ago in August and October. August is our last official winter month. Almost every afternoon they were in the pool. We couldn't believe it! The water couldn't have been more than about 19 degrees C. People would stop to stare at the crazy Kiwi's splashing around like winter didn't exist ... and for them (and obviously you lot) it didn't!!

Nova Scotia and the Sea
The waters of the Atlantic and the Bay of Fundy are fairly cold with temperatures ranging from 8-12°C. These waters have a moderating effect on the air temperature over southwestern Nova Scotia during the spring and summer months, keeping temperatures on the cooler side. In January the temperature of water is between 0 and 4°C and helps to lessen the severity of winter. Moving further offshore, in the direction of the east, southeast and south are the warmer 16°C of the Gulf Stream. It's warming influence, particularly through the months of August to October, is responsible for extending the fall weather.

In july taking the kids to the beach my feet would turn blue in the water. Couldnt get the kids out though.
